How is your organization implementing its AI strategy?
Last week, we held the soft launch of the AI@EUR program. The program’s goal is to further embed the responsible use of AI across our university by involving all EUR schools and engaging a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Our core domains, research and education, as well as our support processes, are being transformed by emerging technologies. The AI@EUR program aims to help us navigate the resulting demands and opportunities, while thoughtfully addressing the challenges and concerns they bring.
The lively discussion during the soft launch showed a high level of engagement among our colleagues. And we need all of them: without you, we cannot take on this challenge.
Because the soft launch was a small internal event, we warmly invite you to join us on April 16 for the official AI@EUR program kick-off. During this event, our rector, Jantine Schuit, will formally open the program and share her thoughts on the use of AI at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Some key challenges we are addressing within the program include:
- How do we include everyone by addressing the differences in AI literacy needs across our organization? We all know our pioneers, but what about our more hesitant colleagues?
- How do we balance our commitment to secure and compliant operations with the need for AI experimentation? And how do we scale successful pilots?
- How do we maintain our academic integrity and educational standards while also embracing and (re)discovering the value that AI can bring?
- How do we bring our AI initiatives together and support them with the right policies, guidelines, and frameworks?
- When do we collaborate with partners? What should be done locally, and what should be done collectively?
- How do we equip the current and next generation to understand, use, and shape technology in sensible, responsible, and sustainable ways?
We hope to see you on April 16 and to hear how you would like to contribute to responsible AI use at our institution.
