VR for Police Training
EUR and Dutch police launch a partnership to start a research project about the use of extended reality (XR) technologies, such as virtual reality (VR), in police training.

Environmental impact of AI
Students bring the environmental impact of AI to life through a VR game. The project explores how extended reality (XR) can help people experience the resource demands and environmental implications of (gen)AI.
How can the Immersive Xperience Lab support you?
Discover XR
We help you explore the potential and value of XR through explorative sessions, workshops and lab visits, offering a safe and creative environment to discuss ideas, test concepts and spark innovation.
Collaborate on research and innovation
We support XR-based research initiatives and launch agile research projects together with educational institutions and businesses. We combine our knowledge about the technology and its specific usage, design and research principles with your domain-specific expertise.
Learn and apply
For researchers, educators, and students, we offer XR integration possibilities that combine the fundamentals of immersive technology with practical applications for research and education.
Receive expert guidance
Our experts provide advice and technical support to help you make informed decisions throughout your XR innovation journey.
Powerful ecosystem
We work within an innovation ecosystem, the SHINE Community, alongside leading partners, government organizations, other educational institutes and start-ups. Each year, we engage with the international XR community at multiple events like Laval Virtual and Immersive Tech Week.

Immersive Xperience Lab
At the IX Lab, we believe in the use of immersive technology (XR) for positive societal impact in many different domains. Our focus is not on technology itself, but on its purposeful and sustainable use.
We bridge the gap between emerging technologies and societal challenges by exploring how innovation affects people, society, and the environment. As a non-commercial, independent knowledge hub, we offer a neutral space to explore, test, and understand how XR can contribute to a sustainable future.
The Immersive Xperience Lab is part of the Erasmus Data Collaboratory, located in the Polak building on the Erasmus University Woudestein Campus. It offers a wide variety of XR technology for hands-on exploration.
Next to a wide variety of XR tools, we offer dedicated working spaces specifically built to facilitate applied research and long-term project development.
