Responsible AI Roundtable

What happens when you bring responsible AI principles and real-world dilemmas to the same table? You get energy, debate, fresh perspectives and actionable insights.

On October 1st, practitioners, researchers and young talent gathered at our Responsible AI Roundtable: Dilemmas and best practices in leading from principles to value. The event was part of the AI Hype, Hope and Humanity Festival.

Opening talks

We opened with two keynote contributions that set the tone for the morning:

  • Auke Kuiper (NVIDIA) drew an inspiring connection between AI development, the people shaping the AI landscape, and art.
  • Anke den Ouden (formerly Microsoft) shared her honest journey in responsible AI transformation and reflected on how to keep people at the center of how we develop and use AI.

Roundtables

From there, the conversation moved into two rounds of interactive roundtables. Participants exchanged ideas, challenged our perspectives, and explored dilemmas around human agency, inclusion, healthcare, public spaces, AI in organizations, and the future of work.

There were not many simple answers, mostly nuanced ones. That is also where much of the value of the discussions lay, and where valuable insights surfaced. Bringing together different experiences and viewpoints helped us explore where AI can create value, where tensions arise, and what responsible choices can look like in real-world applications.

A big thank you to our speakers, table hosts, moderator, partners, and every participant for bringing your expertise, questions, experiences, and above all, curiosity to the discussions. You truly took the event to the next level and helped move the conversation on responsible AI from principles towards practice, toward AI that works for and with people.

What’s happening now?

Soon, we will share the key takeaways so we can build on what we learned and keep the conversation on responsible AI moving forward. We’re glad to see participants already connecting and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.

More insights from the conversation coming soon…
