And that’s a wrap! πŸŽ‰

After two years of hard work, we proudly celebrated and showcased the results of the Smart Campus project during the Smart Campus Final event.

Ellen van Schoten, the Vice-President of Erasmus University Rotterdam, officially kicked off the event with an opening speech.

Further event highlights included:
– Presentations by our EUR experts on the importance of considering the human side of technology to increase adoption, the opportunities of nudging to foster sustainable behavior, and the impact of air quality on exam performance.
– Interactive showcases in the Immersive Xperience Lab (IXL), featuring tools like the Planon Dashboard, VR wayfinding solutions, and air quality monitoring systems.
– Sustainability insights on how optimizing the use of lecture halls and meeting rooms can lead to better resource management and improved campus environments.

The event allowed the Erasmus University Rotterdam campus community to connect, exchange ideas, and contribute to the vision of a smarter, even more sustainable campus.

The Smart Campus project is a collaboration between Erasmus Digitalisation & Information Services (EDIS), Real Estate & Facilities, and ECDA. The initiative focused on further improving the operations, well-being, and sustainability efforts of the Erasmus University Rotterdam campus. Supported by academics such as Dr. Rebecca Moody, Dr. Max Coveney, Dr. Antonia Krefeld-Schwalb, and Dr. Sebastian Gabel, we explored various initiatives at the EUR and sought new opportunities.

We are happy that the ECDA team was also able to contribute to the technological and analytical efforts behind the Smart Campus project, powered by the Erasmus Data Collaboratory team. Our work included developing the Planon dashboard, providing air quality sensors, and developing a local smart monitoring dashboard offering EUR campus sustainability insights.

We want to thank our partners for the collaboration. This event was a great occasion to celebrate what we achieved together for the Smart Campus project thus far. We look forward to building on this foundation in the future and supporting the well-being and sustainability goals of our university.

Please stay tuned for more updates as we continue exploring the potential of data, technology, and collaboration to make a positive societal impact! πŸš€
