We would like to invite you to our quarterly community meetup & social drinks. Every quarter our community of stakeholders comes together at the Erasmus Data Collaboratory | House of AI at the Erasmus University Campus. It is an opportunity to exchange ideas, connect across industries and university centers, share updates, learnings, and trends. Also get inspired by flash talks from our experts and partners in the data, AI & Immersive Tech fields.
Prof. Vincent Blok will address the Ethical, Legal, and Societal Aspects (ELSA) of Artificial Intelligence. He will explore how ethical frameworks can guide the responsible design of AI systems to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability. The talk will also cover the dynamics between the ELSA requirements and economic objectives of private sector R&D companies. Prof. Blok will illustrate how integrating ELSA can harness AI’s potential for societal benefit while mitigating associated risks. Professor Vincent Blok has been appointed as professor of Philosophy of Data Science and AI at the Erasmus School of Philosophy. In his part-time appointment, Blok will work with colleagues and students to study, among other themes, the philosophical, ethical and social aspects of data science, artificial intelligence, the circular economy and climate change. Prof. Blok will lead the ECDA practice AI Ethics & accountability.
