Last Thursday, we officially kicked off the Tokenization Masterclass, organized together with 2Tokens! 🚀
Inspiring Opening Lecture
The Masterclass began with an inspiring lecture by our Academic Director of Fintech and Professor of Financial Technology and Data Analytics at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Dion Bongaerts.
We started the day with warm introductions from Marcel van Oosterhout (our Executive Director at ECDA), Mariana Pinto Monteiro (Marketing and Partnerships Lead at 2Tokens), and Alex Bausch (Executive Chairman at 2Tokens). Next, Dion led an engaging discussion on how tokens can transform business processes, emphasizing where genuine value is created and who truly benefits from innovation.
Throughout the lecture, participants explored the key advantages of tokenization, including greater trust and transparency at lower costs, streamlined operations through standardization and automation, and innovation in rights management through an “administration of rights” approach.
Addressing Frictions in Digital Finance
💡 Attendees also examined the inefficiencies (“frictions”) that exist in today’s payment systems and discussed how tokenization could help address these challenges, paving the way for faster, more secure, and more efficient transactions that could transform the future of digital finance.
