The Erasmus Centre for Data Analytics (ECDA) is looking for a Digital Content & Marketing Coordinator Student Assistant to start in September 2026.
About ECDA
ECDA is Erasmus University Rotterdam’s flagship centre and community for exploring the societal impact of Data, AI, Digitalization, and Immersive Technologies. With over 350 researchers across 30 labs and expert practices, ECDA unites expertise from across university faculties. We support applied research, experimentation, and lifelong learning, partnering with public and private organizations to develop and apply data analytics methods that address real-world challenges. ECDA is also involved in regional innovation projects that examine the societal impact of emerging technologies. We contribute by orchestrating stakeholder and expert involvement, providing execution support, and accelerating the responsible and effective use of technology.

- Provides one innovation hub, the Erasmus Data Collaboratory including the Immersive Xperience Lab, where the community can come together.
- Supports hands-on education and training for executives, academics, and students.
- Organizes exclusive collaborative challenges, workshops, and summits.
We are currently looking for a creative and proactive student assistant to join our team in the role of Digital Content & Marketing Coordinator. This part-time role (2 days/week, 0.4 FTE) offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, professional communications, content creation, event promotion and operations, and community building, while contributing to a fast-paced, innovative academic environment.
As a Digital Content & Marketing Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:
Content Creation and Campaign Support
- Support the execution of marketing campaigns for ECDA programmes, events, and initiatives, including collaborative efforts with our partners.
- Create engaging visual content for digital communication channels, including social media posts, banners, event materials, and promotional assets.
- Develop marketing materials using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and other content creation tools, including generative AI tools.
- Write compelling copy for social media, event promotion, and organizational communications.
- Contribute creative ideas for content concepts, communication formats, and campaign materials that align with ECDA’s brands and objectives.
- Ensure all communication materials are consistent with ECDA’s visual identity and tone of voice.
Social Media Management
- Support the management of ECDA’s social media presence, primarily on LinkedIn.
- Monitor content performance and engagement metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stay informed about social media trends and best practices relevant to ECDA’s target audiences and translate this to processes and best practices.
Event Marketing and Content Production
- Develop event marketing materials and promotional campaigns.
- Capture photography and video content during selected ECDA events and create event recaps. The ability to create event highlight and interview videos is a plus.
- Support live event communication activities where required.
- Support with event operations.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing and Communication, the Design & Digital Marketing Coordinator, and other team members to support ongoing communication initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to gather content and develop communication materials.
- Contribute to maintaining a professional and engaging presence across ECDA communication channels.
Job requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a student at an accredited university or educational institution. Preferably a 3rd-year, 4th-year, pre-master’s, or master’s student.
- Available for at least 6 months.
- Strong interest in marketing, communications, digital media, and content creation.
- Experience with Canva and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Basic photography, videography, and video editing skills are considered a plus.
- Strong written communication skills in English.
- Ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging content for diverse professional audiences.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and creative mindset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Affinity with data, AI, immersive technologies, and creating societal impact through digital innovation is not mandatory but considered a plus.
- Dutch language skills are a strong plus.
Conditions
The start date of this position is September 2026. You will get compensated according to the student assistant salary scale at EUR. The position is for 16 hours per week (0.4 FTE) and follows a hybrid working model.
