AI@EUR is proud to mark its public kick-off as Erasmus University Rotterdam’s programme for developing a responsible and impactful approach to AI. 

Over the past months, while bringing our organisation together behind the scenes, we have been laying the foundations for how we can equip, engage, and evolve with AI: launching pilot projects in education and research, experimenting with AI tools in support services, and strategically developing a vision for AI within our university. These initiatives are not isolated experiments, but stepping stones towards a coherent, university-wide approach to the responsible use of AI. 

AI@EUR will support Erasmus University Rotterdam by connecting, coordinating, and strengthening AI efforts in research, education, operations, and engagement. At the same time, we will help ensure that we recognise and respond appropriately to the critical concerns AI raises, from sustainability, ethics, knowledge production, skills development, inclusion, and bias. This event marks the moment where these efforts come together and we look ahead, together, to what AI can mean for Erasmus University Rotterdam and our impact on society.
