SUMMARY:ECDA Leadership Challenge Spring 2022
DESCRIPTION:The use of data and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) will without any doubt change the waywe will do business in the future. As a matter of fact\, today it is already changing businesses\,governmental organizations\, and educational institutions. But what is needed to make ArtificialIntelligence a valuable part of the way we do business ourselves? Many experts believe thatsuccessful Artificial Intelligence applications hinge on the so-called b-smaCt technologies(Blockchain\, Social media\, Mobile use\, Analytics\, Cloud and Things-on-the-internet or better knownas IoT). The fuelling component of those technologies is Big Data. This insight will require a wholenew set of skills and ways of working. Understanding and working with new technologies for bigdata collection\, analysis and prediction will not create only huge societal and business opportunities\,but also ethical\, legal\, privacy and technical issues concerning every part of the organization. It willinfluence customer relationships\, redefines how organizations develop new products and services\,changes how operations are organized and managed\, and provides the basis for new businessmodels and service offerings. It will demand a data driven focus of everyone involved in theorganization. \n\n\n\nThis training programme combines the science of business\, data\, and societal perspectives.Participants – who usually join with a team of 3 to 6 persons – acquire a broad knowledge and diverseskills related to data analytics\, which may lead to new insights that drive new value creationopportunities. Such learning by doing manifests itself along two dimensions: across multiple levels(individual\, group\, and corporate) and across multiple functions. \n\n\n\nSpecific dates to be announced!

SUMMARY:ECDA Leadership Challenge Higher Education (April pilot edition)
DESCRIPTION:This edition is FULLY BOOKED! Join our September edition instead! \n\n\n\nThe use of data and application of analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) will without any doubt change the way we design and operate our Higher Education. As a matter of fact\, today it is already changing our educational institutions. But what is needed to make analytics and AI valuable parts of the way we organize our education? Many experts believe that the successful transformation of our Higher Education hinges on five pillars: strategy\, hr and culture\, organisation\, governance and compliance\, ICT. \n\n\n\nThis insight will require a whole new set of skills and ways of working. Understanding and working with new technologies for (big) data collection\, analysis and prediction will not create only huge opportunities\, but also ethical\, legal\, privacy and technical issues concerning every part of the organization. It will influence the relationship with our students\, redefine how new programs and services are developed\, change how operations are managed\, and provide the basis for new service offerings. It will demand a data-driven focus of everyone involved in the organization. \n\n\n\nThis training programme combines the science of business\, data\, and societal perspectives. Participants – who usually join with a team of 3 to 5 persons – acquire a broad knowledge and diverse skills related to data analytics\, which may lead to new insights that drive new value creation opportunities in the context of higher education. Such learning by doing manifests itself along two dimensions: across multiple levels (individual\, group) and across multiple functions

SUMMARY:ECDA Insights Social Artificial Intelligence #5
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Michel Klein (VU) \n\n\n\nTitle: Social AI for behavior change: lessons learned and challenges \n\n\n\n\n\nAbstract: Social AI is about the AI technology interacting and collaborating with humans. The goal of my research is to better understand how Artificial Intelligence technology can be used to analyze and interpret human behavior and induce behavior change\, with a special focus on health behavior. In this talk\, I will give an overview of some insights that we have gained in different studies\, e.g. the effect of social comparison on physical activity\, and the use of dynamic models to predict the effect of different actions of a behavior change support system\, and gamification to increase diet adherence. In addition\, I will sketch the outline of a framework that describes how to use psychological knowledge in a technological system to support human behavior change.
