SUMMARY:Virtual Reality (VR) in Education: Lessons from a Large-Scale Pilot Study
DESCRIPTION:CLI Lunch & Learn\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDuring this CLI Lunch & Learn\, you will learn more about the interesting educational innovations and research taking place at Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) and beyond. During this session\, Yvonne van Everdingen (RSM) and Marie Kegeleers (ECDA) will share their insights about using VR in education through the lens of a recent pilot study. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n Date and Time\n Tuesday 23rd June 2026\, 12:00-13:00\n \n \n\n \n \n Location\n Education Lab\, Polak Building\, Erasmus University Rotterdam\n \n \n\n \n \n Event language\n \nEnglish\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n Enterance\n \nFree\, including lunch\n\n \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn this presentation\, we discuss the use of VR in education through the lens of a recent pilot study. In this study\, VR was used to help 160 students enrolled in the course Sustainable Marketing and Consumer Behavior experience the environmental impact of AI use and data centers. \n\n\n\nOn the one hand\, we address the organisational aspects of using VR in education\, such as the development of an appropriate VR experience and the technical support required during the sessions. On the other hand\, we compare VR as a teaching method with a traditional learning method\, namely reading text-based materials. We present findings related to both students’ learning experiences and learning outcomes. \n\n\n\n\nRegister\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n Marie KegeleersImmersive Xperience Lab Manager\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Prof. Dr. Yvonne van EverdingenProfessor of Marketing and Innovation \n \n Expert in marketing new products\, VR/AR for sustainable adoption; serves on EUR Diversity Board\, VR SIG\, MOA groups\, and chairs MOAward jury

SUMMARY:Learn how to use LLM in your research
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in using LLMs in your research? You might want to join this hands-on workshop by the Erasmus Centre for Data Analytics (ECDA) in collaboration with SSH Breed. \n\n\n\nWe will be hosting a session on using n8n and university-hosted LLMs to build automated research workflows led by Farshad Radman and Jos van Dongen. Rather than manually copying and pasting into a browser\, participants will learn how to: \n\n\n\n• Process at scale — connect an LLM to a local folder to automatically summarise or code hundreds of PDFs. \n\n\n\n• Use secure infrastructure — run models via API on university servers\, so sensitive data never leaves a controlled environment. \n\n\n\n• Build reproducible pipelines — create shareable workflows that can standardise data processing across your lab. \n\n\n\nPlaces are capped at 20 to ensure quality support. \n\n\n\nInterested? Please register by emailing Yaniv Morgenstern (morgenstern@essb.eur.nl). \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n Date and Time\n 25th June 2026\, 14:00-17:00\n \n \n\n \n \n Location\n Y1-10\, Polak Building\, Erasmus University Rotterdam\n \n \n\n \n \n Event language\n \nEnglish\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n Entrance\n \nFree
